Au (Austria)

The ski resort of Au is centrally located in the Bregenzerwald. From the centre of this small ski resort, the ski slopes are easily accessible. In Au you will feel a romantic atmosphere which is particularly popular with families. This typical Austrian village does not offer many après-ski options, but what there is, is certainly cozy! Au is a very picturesque village where you can spend a quiet, relaxing ski holiday with family or friends.

You have to visit the restaurants and guesthouses here which serve traditional cuisine such as 'Milchsuppe' (milk soup), 'Käseknöpfle' (cheese dish), 'Schälbe' (mousse) and 'Kiasikoch' (cherry pancake). Definitely worth a try! The spicy 'Rohmilchkäse' from the alpine farm in Au is also particularly recommended. The farm is located between Au and Schoppernau, right on the 14-kilometer 'Dörferloipe' cross-country trail. To visit the farm it is advisable to make an appointment to be sure there is someone to show you around.
