The Run of Fame in the Arlberg is the most challenging ski circuit in Austria, with 85 kilometres of slopes and 18000 metres in altitude gained and lost. Skiers and snowboarders who tackle this route are guaranteed an unforgettable ski day on the pistes of Warth-Schröcken, Lech Zürs and St. Anton am Arlberg. Plus, thanks to the Flexenbahn lift, there is no more need to take a ski bus for this ski tour. In this article we'll share everything you need to know about the Run of Fame ski circuit in the Arlberg.
Run of Fame: one of the longest ski circuits in Austria
The Run of Fame travels over 85km of slopes, visiting practically the entire Ski Arlberg ski area along the way without once having to do the same piste twice. The ski circuit starts and finishes in Warth or in St. Anton on the Rendl (2645m). As you ski, you'll come across various checkpoints: in Warth, Zürs and on the Rendl. If you manage to complete the tour within 2 days and track it on the app, you'll earn a badge for your ski poles which you can collect from the Hall of Fame. The badge changes every year - so you'll have to come back!
North route: from St. Anton/Rendl to Warth
Those who choose to complete the north route should start in the south, near the Riffelscharte in
St. Anton/Rendl. From there, head towards
Stuben
via the Galzigbahn and the Tanzböden. Afterwards you'll head towards
Zürs am Arlberg, arriving in
Lech am Arlberg
via
Zug. Take the Auenfeldjet and the Sonnenjet to get to
Warth
(1500m), and from there it's just a little further to the checkpoint. Next you'll take the south route back to St. Anton/Rendl.

South route: from Warth to St. Anton/Rendl
If you prefer to do the south route, you'll start in the northern part of Ski Arlberg at the Steffisalp-Express in Warth (1500m). You'll head towards Zürs via the Saloberkopf (2043m) and the Auenfeldjet, passing through Lech. From here, the Flexenbahn will take you to Stuben, and then you'll ski on to St. Anton in the southern part of Ski Arlberg. You'll know you're halfway through the ski circuit when you reach the top station of the Rifflbahn II (2646m). Next you'll ski back to Warth and link up with the north route.
Beautiful ski circuit
Plan at least a full day, if not two, to tackle the Run of Fame in the Arlberg. It's possible to start the ski circuit from almost any point in the ski area. The ski circuit is clearly marked, so there's little chance of getting lost along the way. Look out for the Run of Fame logos and info points in honour of ski legends such as Hannes Schneider, Karl Schranz and Mario Matt.
Practical info: Ski Arlberg
The Run of Fame is one of three ski circuits in the Arlberg, the other two being the legendary White Ring in Lech Zürs and the Tannbergrunde in Warth-Schröcken. Another must-do is the piste ‘Der Weiße Rausch’ in St. Anton, which is the longest piste in the Arlberg. Since the inauguration of the Flexenbahn, Ski Arlberg boasts around 300km of slopes, making it the biggest contiguous ski area in Austria. Ski Arlberg is known for its reliable snow cover and outstanding off-piste terrain.
