A reader of Swiss magazine 20min.ch came across a bizarre scene last Monday. He was ski touring with a group of friends in Elsigen-Metsch when all of a sudden, an airplane landed on the ski slope!

As with the rest of the Alps, Switzerland has closed the lifts in all its ski resorts. Upon witnessing the airplane suddenly land in the middle of the slope, the reader, who is a ski instructor and out of work since Saturday, managed to record the scene on his telephone. The airplane landed, stopped and started up again, and repeated this pattern a couple of times. It's likely he was learning and needed a place to practise.
