Bernex (France)

The beautiful ski resort of Bernex located in the Rhone-Alpes 12 kilometers from Lake Geneva lies at an altitude of 820 meters above sea level. It should not be confused with the Swiss town of Bernex, located near the village (on the other side of the lake).

Bernex is an old mountain village consisting of wooden chalets and old stone houses. You immediately notice the Church of Bernex, L' église Saint-Ours de Bernex, because of the distinct style of building and because it is built on a hill. This mountain village has access to the Bernex Dent d' Oche ski area. In winter you can ski or snowboard here, take snowshoeing walks and also, you can cross-country ski. There are two cross-country ski trails totalling about 7 km. The ski resort is not very lively but there are a number of restaurants and a couple of bars. There is a cinema in the village of Bernex.
