Spectacular setting off the beaten track
Crévoux is a hidden gem nestled in the southern French Alps with slopes between 1600m and 2550m above sea level, almost a kilometre of vertical drop in total. With easily accessible nursery slopes conveniently placed next to the terraces of mountain restaurants, this station is geared towards families. Kids can learn to ski under the watchful eyes of the capable ESF instructors, while parents sip a drink! For intermediate skiers, there are plenty of fun slopes to tackle, and as the ski area is north-facing snow cover is quite reliable.
The ski resort is set up with everything beginners could possibly wish for, with adapted lifts, a beginner snow park and special tarifs for the learning area. Intermediate skiers and snowboarders shouldn't miss the chance to take a 7-kilometre long string of blue slopes that wind from the summit down to the base station, with stunning views of the Serre-Ponçon lake along the way. And although the ski area only has 22km of marked pistes, freeriders will find a veritable powder playground in the backcountry, with gentle powder fields and routes through the trees. Crévoux offers off-piste guides for newcomers to the region, as well as an avalanche safety training area and several transceiver checkpoints.
