When arriving in the French ski resort of Risoul you will notice instantly the general use of natural materials such as wood and stone which helps create the resort’s cozy image. All accommodation is close to the resort centre which is home to several bars, restaurants and boutiques. Risoul shares the ski area, La Foret Blanche, with the adjacent ski resort of Vars, so almost 200 kilometres of ski slopes are yours for the taking. Risoul is also known as the village with one of the world’s fastest downhill runs. In 1995 the American, Jeff Hamilton, skied down it at the incredible speed of 241 kilometres per hour!
