The lively ski resort of Villard-de-Lans is located in the heart of the Massif Vecors mountain range in the Parc Régional de Vecors and shares a ski area with the ski resort of Corrençon. During the Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble in 1968, the bobsleighing competitions were held in Villard de Lans. The ski resort has a pretty, pedestrianized centre giving the resort a cozy, friendly feel and you can take a sleigh ride visit of the village.
Villard de Lans offers many alternative activities to skiing, including ice-skating, ice-climbing, horse riding, snowshoeing, tennis and there is a leisure center offering plenty of good facilities. Visits to the local pottery studio, torchlight descents, bowling and other entertainments are organised here. The two nightclubs in Villard de Lans, Le Club 2000 in Cote 2000 and Le Vidrick, offer enough nightlife to keep you busy after dark.
