Le Tanet (France)

Le Tanet is the area around and on the Tanet mountain. It is located in the Vosges, on the side near Alsace in the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges. In the area on the side of the Alsace region there are two villages : Soultzeren and Stosswihr. These two villages are adjacent to each other and together form the Le Tanet ski area.

The Tanet mountain is 1292 meters high and overlooks the valley of Valtin on the Lorraine side and the forests and meadows and the Lac Vert on the Alsatian side. The village of Le Tanet is small and picturesque and the houses are typical of Alsace and gives a German mountain village appearance. Here you'll find most hotels and restaurants for your ski holiday. Stosswihr is in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges and just a few kilometers away from Colmar. The village has a number of beautiful churches worth visiting. Apres-ski in Le Tanet is very quiet but you can go for a night out to Munster which is a few kilometers from the ski resort Le Tanet.
