You might recognise the name Lillehammer from the 1994 Winter Olympics, which took place here. Today, Lillehammer is a relatively big town, well-equipped for skiing and for many other activities. Don't miss the ice sculptures at the Hunderfossen Winterpark, and check out the dogsledding if you have a chance.
Lillehammer also has a good après-ski scene and lively nightlife. You'll always find a good time at the Brenneriet Nattklubb, or in the many locales in Lillehammer's town centre. Wander through the charming streets and discover the many shops, cafes and restaurants. The Lillehammer/Hafjell ski area is located 15km north of the town and boasts 40km of pistes, making it the third-largest ski area in Norway.
