Strandafjellet is located in the Alpepass Region, in the Norwegian Sunnmøre Alps. The Fjord Norway region has 8 smaller ski areas, all of them accessible on the same ski pass. Strandafjellet is one of the larger ones among them, with 7 lifts and 18 pistes for a total of 20km of slopes. In general the slopes here are not very steep or challenging, making it a good choice for skiers who are still looking to build their confidence. The region is also full of off-piste and ski touring possibilities.
Stranda may not impress with its kilometres of slopes, but the surrounding scenery is nothing to sneeze at. Both the mountain peaks here offer incredible views of the fjords, giving you the impression that you're skiing over the sea! The lift infrastructure is generally modern, with a few drag lifts, and there are viewing platforms from which to enjoy the view. Families with children will appreciate the specially marked practice area and the adjacent picnic/barbecue area next to the slopes. This is a calm and relaxed ski area; even when there are queues, they are orderly ones, just the way we like them! Night skiing is available and freestylers can practice their jumps at the fun park. If you run out of terrain, you can visit one of the nearby ski resorts.
