Ski area Trysil

Trysil in short

  • Height: 415 - 1100 metres
  • Biggest ski resort in Norway
  • Child-friendly facilities
  • Nice long blue pistes for carving

Norway's largest ski resort is situated about 200km north of Oslo and easily reachable by bus from the airport. Although it only reaches an altitude of 1132m, the ski area is very snowsure. The village centre is located across the river from the ski area, so if skiing is your main focus then you should consider staying in one of the hotels located on the mountain itself, many of which are ski-in, ski-out.

For those looking for a large alpine sports centre full of life, then Trysil is the ideal place to be. The resort is particularly adapted to families, with many long blue and green slopes. The ski area has around 70km of slopes overall and is divided into four smaller ski areas: Skihytta, Trysil Turistsenter, Høgegga and Trysil Høyfjellssenter. Advanced skiers can test themselves with the daring “run 75”, a slope with a maximum incline of 44 degrees. There are areas for snowboarding and over 85km of groomed trails for cross-country skiing. Trysil is a perfect choice for families thanks to the many kids' areas and huts with free barbecue facilities. Alternate activities include cross-country skiing, snow scooters and dogsledding.
