Ski area Toggenburg

Toggenburg is a ski area located in northeast Switzerland which includes the resorts of Alt St. Johann and Unterwasser, among others. The ski area is nestled between the imposing Säntis Massif and the peaks of the seven Churfirsten. It’s a popular ski area with locals from nearby Zürich, as it’s only about an hour’s drive from the city. Aside from skiing on the slopes of the Chasserug, Toggenburg also offers plenty of opportunities for winter hiking, cross-country skiing, ice skating and more.

The Toggenburg ski area offers slopes for all ability levels. The region is known for being very family-friendly, and every type of skier or snowboarder will feel at home here. For easy access to the slopes of the Chasserug, stay at Alt. St. Johann or Unterwasser. The highest point in the ski area reaches 2262 metres above sea level and is aptly named the Top of Toggenburg. Expert skiers can try their hand on the steep black slopes of the Stöfeli (1670m), while beginners can head to Iltios (1350m) for some lovely practice runs. The Sellamatt has floodlit slopes for night skiing every Friday.
